VIDEO Tribute: ZURIELS film premier -“Follow the Ball” at the Hilton Abuja, Nigeria

MON, AUGUST 28 2017-theG&BJournal-As a globally recognized Girl Education Advocate and known as the world’s youngest film maker in many quarters, newly minted 15 year old Zuriel Oduwole has premiered her fifth film – but the second for the big screen in Abuja – Nigeria, following the success of her 2014 release – “A Promising Africa”, which showed at Genesis Deluxe in Lekki and Film House Cinema in Surulere, before screening in Ghana, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Tokyo – Japan.

Attended by dozens of children, youths and representatives from governments, groups and private sector leadership, including several Ambassadors and their wives, Ford Foundation, Dangote, Tony Elumelu and 2 Governors Offices and the Nigerian Presidency, it capped her three year journey of making the film, which was shot across 5 countries [Brazil, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mauritius and the US] on 3 continents.

It is the story of ONE girl taking TWO footballs across THREE continents and through FIVE countries, traveling 29000 miles to get the message of Girls Education out, with filming commencing during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The footballs were signed by people from more than 35 nationalities, and included Football Players, Pilots, Ambassadors, Governors, Football Fans, a First Lady, a Nobel Prize Winner, Corporate CEO’s and ordinary people, wanting to make their voices heard.

Already critically acclaimed, the colorful film premier event at the Hilton Hotel saw speeches and tributes from several groups and supportive interests/stakeholders. One of the musical tributes was from Kenya Pop Group and winners of an MTV 2016 Award – SAUTI SOL.
