Nine people killed in latest Boko Haram raid

MON, JULY 3 2017-Dozens of people were late Sunday night abducted in Southern Niger by Suspected Boko Haram militants. Nine people were killed in the attack. According to the local mayor, Abba Gata Issa, about 40 women and children were abducted in the raid.

The latest abduction and killings adds to growing list of Boko Haram mayhem in recent times and following the fall of their headquarter in Sambisa forest in Bornu State, Nigeria.

Scores of children as young as 3 are frequently among those abducted from their homes. Humanitarian agencies estimate that there are anywhere from thousands to tens of thousands of victims who are suffering both the physical and the psychological trauma of abduction, indoctrination and savage mistreatment.
