WED, JULY 12 2017-theG&BJournal-ALh. (Dr) Abubakar Sani Bello, the Niger State governor held high level talks with former governors, deputy governors and ministers from the state today in government house, Minna, the state capital. The meeting which was called shortly after Nigeria’s Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo’s visit, was billed as a consultative move. Sources say issues discussed centered around development of infrastructure, education and security of the state.
The governor has been at the forefront, campaigning for the country’s peace and unity. “We should embrace peace. Our forefathers fought and lost their lives to keep this country together. We should not allow their sacrifice to go in vain. I strongly believe that we can progress more as one nation despite the differences in culture, religion and ethnic groups,” he said recently when the Emir of Minna, Alh. (Dr) Umar Farouq Bahago and members of his Emirate Council paid him a Sallah homage at the government House in Minna.
On Monday the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday, was in the state to inspect the collapsed bridge in Tatabu in Mokwa Council Area linking Northern and Western parts of the country. The bridge is currently under reconstruction.
