N1.650bn released to DESOPADEC – DTSG

TUE, AUGUST 1 2017-The Delta state government say it has so far released a total of N1.650 billion to the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) to pay contractors as well as run its affairs.

The amount was released in July according to the Media Assistant to the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Sam Ijeh who said suggestions that only about N500 million was released a fabrication and a mischievous rumour.

Ijeh in a statement made available to theG&BJournal said mischievous rumour, again, has exposed the writers as ignorant, and wicked persons whose stock in trade is to cause unnecessary disaffection aimed at destroying the peaceful atmosphere existing in the state.

The state government urged Deltans not to be distracted but continue to support the government of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who is said to be irrevocably committed to the overall development of the state.
