Maintain the integrity of banks, Ukah tells bankers


FRI, MAY 5 2017-Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has reiterated that Delta State is an investment haven for investors.

The Commissioner stated this on Thursday when the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Delta State branch, paid him a courtesy call in his office in Asaba.

Mr. Ukah said that Delta State had always extend hand of fellowship to professional bodies, describing them as partners in progress, saying that Delta State was warm, friendly and a home to everybody.

Responding to the request of the body concerning its forthcoming Annual Lecture, he stated that the lecture would afford Nigerians the opportunity to know that the state is peaceful and very hospitable, saying that the lecture would enhance the prospects of commerce in the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Delta State branch, Engr. Jude Mgbeze, had intimated the Commissioner of the forthcoming Annual Lecture holding in Delta State and requested the ministry to use it media organs to publicize the event, even as he said the lecture would attract important dignitaries to the state.

Present at the visit were the functioning Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Paul Osahor, the Director of Administration, Mr. Frank Akpoku, the Media Assistant to the Commissioner, Mr. Sam Ijeh, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Delta State branch, Mr. Ameachi Banyen  among others.
