LAGOS, DECEMBER 15, 2016 – Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has tactically eased out the current Head of Service, HOS, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola who is enmesh in alleged bribery scandal with her husband, Justice Adeniji Ademola.
The governor has appointed Mrs Folashade Sidikatu Adesoye as acting HOS.
It was reported that the decision was taken because the image of the Lagos State Government is being smeared by the arraignment of Ademola with her husband in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over allegation of corrupt practices.
An Abuja High Court on Tuesday granted bail to justice Adeniyi Ademola and wife, Olabowale, in the sum of N50 million each and adjourned trial into their matter until Jan. 18.
The two were arraigned by Federal Government on 11-count of criminal conspiracy to receive gratification in various ways, contrary to Section 8(1)(a) of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Act 2000.
Justice Ademola was among the seven justices investigated after the sting operations carried out on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 by the Department of State Services (DSS).
However, Ambode late on Wednesday acted swiftly by appointing Adesoye as acting HOS.
Adesoye, was until her appointment the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA.
